SRINAGAR- The 2023 Srinagar Premier Football League action continued on Thursday at Synthetic Turf TRC.
In the first match, an early morning kick off, Star Kashmir FC took on Kashmir Panthers FC. The first half was evenly contested with both clubs failing to find the back of the net. The second half proved to be a different story as Star Kashmir’s Moosa Bilal managed to give his side the lead in 54th minute. Shariq Hussain then doubled Star Kashmir’s lead in the 58th minute. The Star Kashmir boys maintained their 2-0 lead till final whistle. Shariq Hussain was awarded man of the match for his 1 goal and 1 assist performance.
In the second Round 6 match of the day, Novelty FC played STFC Natipora at 5:30 PM. The first half was a fierce one with both teams trying to score. However, the half ended goalless. With all to play for in the second half, STFC Natipora broke the deadlock to take a 1-0 lead. But Novelty managed to equalise soon after to make things even. STFC then had a stroke of luck as a Novelty player put the ball into his own net to give STFC a 2-1 lead, which they managed to hold on to till final whistle.
The 2023 Srinagar Premier League will continue today, Friday, with two matches on schedule. AG’s Office XI will take on Kashmir Avengers FC at 8:30 AM, while in the second game, SCFA will lock horns with Iqbal Sports FC at 5:30 PM.
