Srinagar- Rescue workers on Tuesday retrieved the body of a girl from a river in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, four days she drowned in the water body along with two of her relatives.
The body of Ronak Jan (12), daughter of Abdul Jabbar of Sulkote village was found at Awatkul from Pohru river, nearly 3 kilometers from the accident site, on Tuesday afternoon, reports said.
The body of the minor girl was retrieved by a joint rescue team of Police, SDRF, NDRF, Army and MARCOS with active assistance of locals.
Last Saturday, Ronak was among three minors who drowned in river Pohru after the trio tried to retrieve slippers of one of the girls from the water source.
Two of the drowned minors’ were rescued safely with timely intervention of locals.
