Srinagar- A boy suffered injuries after being stabbed by two juveniles near Zero-Inn at Rajbagh area of the city here this evening, police said.
A police official said the accused duo after stabbing the boy and injuring him, jumped into River Jhelum from Zero Bridge; however prompt action of a Border Security Forces (BSF) patrolling party led to their arrest.
The victim, identified as Haseeb Bhat of Sonwar area of the city, was rushed to the hospital with arm injuries and is stable.
A formal case FIR No. 22 of 2023 under sections 341, 323,307 and 34 of IPC stands registered at Kothibagh police station in this regard.
Both the accused, officials said, have been arrested and weapon of offense recovered.
One of the accused, as per Srinagar police tweet is also from Sonwar area of the city and another from Rajbagh. Investigations into the instant case are on.
Confirming the incident, Srinagar police in a tweet said “One boy Haseeb Bhat of Sonwar was stabbed with a knife by two 17-years old juveniles (name withheld) one from Sonwar, other from Rajbagh. FIR No 22/2023 U/s 341, 323, 307, 34, of PC at Kothibagh PS. Accused arrested & weapon of offense recovered. Victim has arm injury & is stable,”
