Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sopore on Saturday claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers including two women and recovered heroin-like substance from their possession.
Quoting a senior police official, news agency KNO reported that as the efforts are on to end the drug menace under the operation drug free Sopore, they have arrested three more drug peddlers and suppliers.
The party headed by SHO police station Amargrah held a trio including two Jammu residents, he said and identified them as Abdul Latief Gojar, son of Noor Muhammad Gojar of district Doda in Jammu, Parveen Kaunsar daughter of Meer Hussain of Sidra Byepass Jammu and Shabnam Begum daughter of Muhammad Akbar Khan, a resident of Akherwani Wulutra Rafiabad in Baramulla district.
“Upon searching them, heroin-like substance was recovered and subsequently a case under FIR number 56/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered and further investigations have been taken up,” the official said.
