Awantipora- The two-day Film Fest was organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication in collaboration with Film South Asia and the Hri Institute for South Asian Research and Exchange.
Six films by different media institutions were screened today. The Film, “Dream Wages” was adjudged best in recognition for its message towards promotion of SDGs etc.
As a part of the fest, a workshop on Reframing Visual Depiction and a photo-exhibition were also organized. The program saw enthusiastic response from participants, students and faculty members from different media departments including MERC University of Kashmir, Department of Convergent Journalism Central University of Kashmir and media departments of Govt. Degree College Anantnag, Govt. Degree College Baramulla, Govt. College for Women M.A. Road and Islamic University of Science and Technology.
Prof. Manzoor A Malik, Dean Academic Affairs IUST presided over the valedictory session of the program. He congratulated the department and applauded the contributions of the students from the participating institutions. The jury members, Ms. Laxmi Murthy (Director Hri Institute for South Asian Research and Exchange), Alok Adhikari Assistant Director Film SouthAsia, Pawas Manandhar, a film researcher, appreciated the students’ unwavering commitment, attention to detail and enthusiasm towards film making.
