Srinagar- In a bizarre circular issued by the education department in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) has directed heads of high and higher secondary schools of the district to get affidavits from parents that their wards are not involved in drug related activities.
According to a circular, the CEO has warned that in case the student is found involved in any type of such activity his admission will be cancelled.
“Since the admission process has been started for Class 9th, 10, 11 & 12. Accordingly the HOIs of HS and HSS are directed to get an affidavit from the parents to the effect that their ward is not involved in any drug related activities,” reads the circular.
It added that in case the student is found in any type of such activities, the admission of the student will be cancelled ab initio. (KNS)
