Srinagar– Corps Commander 15th Core Lieutenant General Amardeep Singh Aujila Wednesday termed the overall security situation in Kashmir as satisfactory.
He said after the successful holding of the G20 event in Kashmir, the Army will conduct the annual Amarnath Yatra 2023 in a peaceful manner.
“Army is fully prepared to ensure the peaceful and safe conduct of Amarnath yatra in Kashmir Valley,” he said.
The Army commander said that the overall situation in Kashmir Valley is under control. “Infiltration did not happen this year, however, bids were made that were thwarted successfully,” he said.
Commanding Officer Lt Gen Amardeep Singh Aujila added that: “as far as the counter-infiltration grid is concerned, we are very strong on the ground.”
The Army commander was speaking to reporters in Chandanwari Pahalgam on the sidelines of a function organized by the Border Roads Organization.
In response to a question, the Army commander said social media is somewhat responsible for the radicalization of youth. He said now people have started differentiating between good and bad and everyone wants peace in Valley.
He said that his message to the youth is, please understand and distinguish between right and wrong.
He reiterated that a solid and strong Indian Army is ready to deal with any unusual threat from across the border. (KNT)
