93% candidates attempted Exam
Srinagar– Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir conducted University Entrance Test (UET) – 2023 at 17 designated Centres across UT with 14 Centres in Kashmir (Islamia College of Science & Commerce, Srinagar and Gandhi Memorial College added as one of the Centres from this year) & 3 in Jammu (SKUAST-J as one of the Centres) for admission to various Under-graduate degree programmes in Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture Engineering, Sericulture, Fisheries, Forestry and Food Technology.
Around 10,800 candidates had applied for the said programmes, out of which 9,900 (92%) of the candidates appeared in the said UET. Different teams of observers under overall supervision of the Chief Observers were constituted by the University to oversee the arrangements/proceedings at the designated Centres located in different Government Educational Institutions in Srinagar and Jammu for smooth, fair and successful conduct of the said Entrance Test. External Observer from the Kashmir University was also appointed to overview the proceedings of the examination at Centre No. 14 Shalimar Campus.
Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice-Chancellor, alongwith the team of officers of the University viz Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Director Extension, Prof. K.N. Qaiser, Controller of Examinations etc. visited the examination centres at Srinagar and interacted with the Principals, invigilation staff of the respective College Centres, and also the candidates appearing in the UET, who expressed high level of satisfaction for the arrangements put in place by the University for smooth and fair conduct of the said Entrance Test.
SKUAST-Kashmir extend its gratitude and sincere thanks to the Divisional Commissioner & Police Administration of the twin cities of Srinagar and Jammu of UT of J&K, Principals/Chief Superintendents of the designated Colleges / Schools and their respective invigilation staff and media personnel for their support and cooperation for fair & smooth conduct of the Entrance Examination. Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K congratulated entire University staff for the tireless efforts for smooth and hassle free conduct of entrance examination.
