Rejects Bail Plea Of Woman Drug Supplier In North Kashmir District
By M Ahmad
Srinagar- A court in Bandipora has rejected the bail application of a woman who was arrested by police with a claim that 140 kilogram of charas was recovered from her Kitchen earlier this year in the north Kashmir District.
“No doubt the accused being a lady can claim ball in a non- bailable offence but where there exist sufficient evidence on record of the CD file then the concession can be declined to the accused lady because the interest and life of the innocent youth are always at higher pedestal then the personal liberty of the lady accused,” Principal Sessions Judge Bandipora, Amit Sharma, said.
The court said that unless and until these accused should not be dealt with stern hands only then the message will be travelled to the other women folk from indulging in such type of activities. “Therefore the evidence on record of the CD file reflects the sufficient ground for believing that the accused person is involved in the commission of this offence, as the recovery was effected from the kitchen definitely being the lady she has every knowledge about the things lying inside the kitchen,” the court said and rejected the bail plea.
“By demonstrating the material evidence collected during the course of investigation by the investigating officer, it is worthwhile to state herein that the narcotic trade particularly in the present district is flourishing and increasing at an alarming speed and this district is become the “potential hub” of Narcotic trade,” the court said, adding, “with the passage of time the ratio of lady accused are increasing in this illegal narcotic trade, simply because of the allurement for money and there is an evidence on record of the CD file that this lady used to sell this Charas to the local youth of the area.”
