SRINAGAR- The J&K Sports Council (JKSC) is set to hold open selection trials for Zonal Level Selection for Indian National Football Team Under-16 Boys on 3rd and 4th June 2023 in both Srinagar and Jammu.
In Srinagar, the trials will take place at Synthetic Turf TRC, while the Mini Stadium Parade will be the venue in Jammu. The trials begin at 10:00 AM. The U-16 national team is set to compete in the upcoming SAFF Championship, to be held in Bhutan later this year.
“Arun Malhotra International Player and Member Technical All India Football Federation has pleaded this trial for J&K,” the Jammu & Kashmir Football Association said in a statement.
Secretary JKSC Nuzhat Gull has directed the Sports Officers of both divisions to provide all the logistic support for the selection and put an effective monitoring system in place to ensure that trails are held in fair and transparent manner.
Assuring that the selection of four talented footballers for the national team will be carried purely on merit basis and the list of selected players will be forwarded to Sarthak Mishra, Manager- State Development, AIFF immediately upon the completion of trails, Arun Malhotra said that team of selectors will leave no stone unturned to field the best players from J&K.
The services of former international star and Pro License Coach Ahmad Ishfaq has been pressed into the service for overseeing the selection procedure in Kashmir division, he shall be assisted by Javed Sofi, qualified football coach of Sports Council. The Jammu division selection panel comprises of Arun Jasrotia, the C-License Coach and in this pursuit JKSC’s senior football coach Satpal Singh shall assist him.
