Srinagar- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday released the brochure of Central University of Kashmir – Target 100 Days for launching of Academic and Administrative Reforms with Specific Focus on Infrastructure Development, today.
The Central University of Kashmir will adopt best practices from other leading institutions in the world and country keeping in view the emerging trends and present needs, and launch innovative reforms within the framework as envisaged under National Education Policy-2020.
The action plan to be prepared by various engagement groups outlines the main goals for implementation of academic and administrative reforms for improving quality and excellence of higher education at the University. Further, the primary emphasis will be on infrastructure creation through a well-designed master plan using green technologies with a provision for future expansion of academic and research activities. They also proposed three iconic buildings consisting of Skill Development Centre, Knowledge Resources Centre and Student Activities Centre and opening access to these facilities for students of other institutions, besides students of Central University of Kashmir.
Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir; Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lt Governor, senior officials and students were present.
3-Week Yoga Camp Begins At CUK
Director DIQA, Prof. Wali Mohammad Shah along with the Dean School of Education, Prof. Syed Zahoor Geelani Thursday inaugurated a 3-week yoga camp at Tulmulla campus here.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. A Ravinder Nath, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool and Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar gave their best wishes for the camp. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Wali Mohammad Shah, highlighted the importance of yoga, and Prof. Syed Zahoor Geelani, explained how yoga could benefit modern society in relieving stress and other negativities.
Coordinator, Deptt of Physical Education, Dr. Mohammad Muzamil Shah briefed the participants about the camp’s itinerary and described the list of yoga-related activities that will be executed throughout the camp.
The camp is being conducted to increase awareness about yoga and train yoga trainers for the 9th international yoga day, to be celebrated on 21st June 2023.
Asst Prof. Dr. Mohammad Muqarram displayed some sitting and standing Asanas on the inauguration day and will be the yoga trainer throughout the camp. Head DCJ, Dr. Arif Nazir, Dy DSW, Dr. Asif Khan, Dr. Somanpreet Singh, Dr. Abdul Roof Rather, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Physical Education, were also present.
