Srinagar– An elderly lady from Palhallan Pattan area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district died in a road accident on Tuesday near Children’s hospital here in Bemina.
Officials said that an unknown bike rider hit a pedestrian identified as Raja Begam (60), wife of Muhammad Jamal Gojri of Palhallan, in front of Children’s hospital Bemina.
The biker, however, managed to flee from the spot, they said.
The injured lady was immediately taken to JVC hospital in Bemina by her sister for treatment where she was declared dead on arrival. Police have taken cognizance of the accident.
Meanwhile, a woman from Kupwara was injured in a road accident near SDA office in Bemina area of Srinagar on Tuesday.
An official said two vehicles collided with each other near the SDA office resulting in injuries to a woman, who has been shifted to JVC hospital Bemina for treatment.
She has been identified as Raja Begum (56) wife of Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Langate Kupwara in north Kashmir.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and both vehicles have been seized.
