Srinagar- A 14-years old boy from Srinagar attempted self immolation over a relationship issue on Tuesday, police said.
A police official told ‘Kashmir Observer’ that a 14-years old boy was admitted at Sri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital here, after he attempted self immolation at his home at Noorbagh area in the old city.
He said the boy had suffered minor burn injuries in the incident and is said to be stable. Earlier there were rumors of acid attack in the locality that proved to be untrue. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and set the investigation into motion.
Police in a tweet said that a boy from Rakh Colony Noorbagh attempted self immolation over some relationship issue. The boy, police said, was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment and is stable.
“One Juvenile (identity hidden) aged 14 years of Rakh colony Noorbagh tried to self immolate himself, over some romantic relationship issue. He was rushed to SMHS hospital by responsible citizens. He has sustained minor burn injuries & is stable. Cognizance by safakadal PS taken”. Srinagar police said in a tweet.
