Srinagar- The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of police on Thursday produced chargesheet against an active militant and a hybrid militant in connection with a case of IED recovery in Sopore town of Baramulla district.
The SIU presented a chargesheet before the NIA Court in Baramulla against a hybrid militant Waseem Raja Lone and an active Mohammad Umar Mir, associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit, a police spokesperson said Thursday.
The chargesheet, he said, was presented in case FIR No. 251/2022 registered at the Police Station Sopore over the recovery of three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) by police on November 7, last year.
“Subsequently following the due course of action, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Sopore produced the chargesheet before the NIA Court Baramulla in the instant case FIR No. 251/2022 under section 4/5 Explosive Substance Act, 18, 20, 23, 38 ULAP Act,” the spokesperson added.
