Srinagar- Two alleged notorious drug smugglers active in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district were booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Kot-Balwal Jail in Jammu, police said Monday.
Jan Mohammad Lone @Jagawar and Aijaz Ahmad Dar were booked under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu, a police spokesperson said.
He said that many cases of drug peddling are registered against the accused for their involvement in promoting and supplying drugs to local youth of Pattan, Kreeri Wagoora and other areas of District Baramulla.
“Despite their involvement in many FIRs, they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth,” he added.
