Srinagar- In yet another step towards eradicating the menace of drugs from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested three notorious drug dealers in Noorbagh area of the district.
A police spokesman in a statement said that DO Noorbagh SI Amandeep Singh under the supervision of SHO Police Station Safakadal Inspector Sheikh Waqil and SDPO MR Gunj Burhan Kanth JKPS today apprehended three notorious drug dealers.
The trio has been identified as Junaid Ahmad Mir, son of Showkat Ahmad Mir of Gulshanabad Mehjoor Nagar, Mukhtar Ahmad Sheikh, son of Mohd Yaseen Sheikh of Hamza Colony Kanihama Nowgam Srinagar and Tawseef Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohidin Sheikh of Kanihama Nowgam Srinagar.
They were arrested along with a huge haul of contraband i.e 370 bottles of Codeine Phosphate, which were seized from these dealers, police said, adding that in this regard, a case under FIR number 46/2023 under section 8/22 of NDPS act has been registered in Safakadal PS and further investigation set into motion.
A Honda city car numbered DL3CBE 2438 used in transportation of drugs has also been seized in the case, police said.
