Srinagar- Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two militant associates, including a woman from North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The two militant associates of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were arrested by a team of police, army’s 29RR and SSB (2ndBn) on the basis of specific information regarding movement of militant associates in Pattan area of the district, a police spokesperson said Tuesday. He identified them as Farooq Ahmad Parra of Pattan and Saima Bashir of Sopore.
“They have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody,” the spokesperson said.
“On their disclosure, arms & ammunition including a Pistol, 02 Pistol Magazines, 05 Pistol rounds and IED (approximately 2kgs) alongwith remote control & other incriminating materials have been recovered,” he added.
During preliminary questioning, the spokesperson said that the arrested duo revealed that they were working as militant associates with active militant Abid Qayoom Lone of Wussan.
Accordingly, he said, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pattan and further investigation has been initiated.
