Srinagar- An elderly tourist from Tamil Nadu died on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest in the tourist resort of Sonamarg in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
70-year-old Kandasamy of Arrupukottai in Tamil Nadu was on a visit to the hill station when he suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday afternoon, reports said. He was instantly removed by his family to the primary health centre (PHC) Sonamarg for treatment. However, the doctors there declared him dead.
The body, reports said, was later handed over to the family after completion of medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, Police have taken cognizance of the incident.
