SRINAGAR- Downtown Heroes FC is all set to take on Mumbai City FC (Reserves) in the 2nd Division League (also known as I-League 2) today, Sunday, April 2, at Synthetic Turf TRC here. The match is slated for a 3:30 PM kick off.
The 2nd Division League is the third tier of professional Indian football, with the Indian Super League and the I-League forming the top two. Downtown Heroes are the only football club from J&K participating in the league, having earned their spot through the Qualifiers round.
Mumbai is currently last in the five-team Group A table, taking one point from their two games. The Heroes are above them in fourth, with three points from three.
Sunday’s fixture is a must-win for Downtown Heroes if they want to climb the Group A table. With only the top two teams going through to the I-League 2 Final round, the Srinagar-based club will hope veteran head coach Hilal Rasool Parray will inspire the Heroes to victory.
