Srinagar- An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Saturday allegedly hanged himself to death at a camp in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
ASI Ajay Kumar Lama of CRPF 181 Battalion was found hanging inside a barrack at the Radar Station in Charar-i-Sharief area of the district on Friday night, reports said.
His body was taken to sub-district hospital (SDH) Chadoora for carrying out legal-medico formalities.
The deceased officer was a resident of Haryana.
Meanwhile, police have started proceedings under Section 174 CRPC to ascertain the reasons behind the ASI taking such an extreme step.
