Jammu- Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Friday chaired 44th meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) and took stock of the preparations being made for the smooth conduct of annual pilgrimage set to begin in June ending.
The board members, including Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, D. C. Raina, Kailash Mehra Sadhu, K. N. Rai, K.N. Shrivastava, Pitambar Lal Gupta, Dr. Shailesh Raina, Prof Vishwamurti Shastri and Manju Garg shared their valuable inputs and suggestions for improving the facilities for the pilgrims, an official spokesperson said.
The meeting held at the Raj Bhavan here, he said, discussed the ongoing works and future projects for smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage.
The spokesperson said that LG’s Principal Secretary Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari made a detailed presentation and briefed the board on various aspects of the Yatra-2023, including registration process, provision of helicopter services, service providers, Yatra camps, langar/NGO services, insurance cover for pilgrims/service providers etc.
Bhandari, who is also CEO SASB, further presented the action taken report on the decisions taken in the previous board meetings.
Chief Engineer BRO briefed the meeting on the progress regarding maintenance, restoration & development works of the Yatra tracks.
