Srinagar- Police have started a probe into a fake account of an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer through which money is being demanded from the people.
According to reports, an unknown fraudster has created a fake account of IPS Officer Amod Ashok Nagpure and is demanding money from the general public. Nagpure is presently posted as SSP Baramulla.
Quoting police sources, a local news agency CNS reported that the fake Insta account has a picture of the SSP on its profile.
The report further said that SSP Baramulla has informed people neither to accept friend requests nor transfer any money on his name.
Meanwhile, police have warned of strict action against the miscreant for creating a fake account of the IPS officer.
