Srinagar- Two days after Kashmiri Pandit employees suspended their 310 days long strike seeking relocation from the Valley following a spate of deadly attacks, the Divisional administration on Monday said that their issues will be addressed in the best possible way.
Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said the administration has always been trying to address the issues of Kashmiri Pandit employees, appointed under Prime Minister’s Special Package in the best possible way and that the efforts in this direction will continue in future as well.
“A delegation of PM Package employees today visited my office, as I often meet them and address their grievances. Our endeavor is to address their grievances in the best possible way and we do that,” Bidhuri said.
On exemption of the poor masses from the anti-encroachment drive being carried out against the land grabbers, he said, the government is committed to protect the poor and that the people need not to panic at all.
Div Com said the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is on record as having said that the poor masses will not be touched.
“Why do people cast doubts if things stand clarified? The LG has said on record that poor masses will not be touched. It means nothing will happen. Administration is committed to protect the poor and we appeal to people not to panic at all,” he added.
Regarding the inconvenience people face due to the ongoing work being undertaken in Srinagar as part of the Smart City project, Div Com said: “People will have to face a little bit of inconvenience till April 15, which has been set as a deadline for all the ongoing projects under Smart City ahead of G-20 Travelers Track meeting to be hosted in Srinagar”
Bidhuri said the work on Smart City projects is carried out in night shifts as well to make sure the inconvenience that people face at the moment is minimized.
“We appeal to people to bear and cooperate with the administration till all the projects being undertaken as part of Smart City mission are completed. They might face difficulties till the situation gets better on the ground,” he added.
