SRINAGAR- Real Kashmir FC left it late as the team recorded a comeback 3-2 win against Mohammedan Sporting Club in I-League on Saturday at Synthetic Turf TRC here.
The visitors led the tie twice, but the Snow Leopards proved they are no push overs.
Mirlan Murzaev gave Mohammedan SC the lead in the 14th minute, before Real Kashmir’s Samuel Kynshi equalised in the 24th with an exquisite finish. Christy Davis then restored the Black Panthers’ lead in the 33rd minute, which the 131-year-old Kolkata-based club maintained till half time.
However, Real Kashmir midfielder Kynshi had other plans as barely three minutes into the second half, the 22-year-old brought his side on equal terms by scoring his second goal of the match.
With four minutes of normal time remaining, Kynshi turned provider and sent a delightful ball towards Ernest Boateng. Real Kashmir’s Ghanian striker Boateng had just been substituted onto the field when he scored the winning header with his first touch of the match.
The win sees Real Kashmir go up the I-League table and currently sits at 7th with 23 points. The Srinagar-based football club will next host Aizawl FC on February 21.
