SRINAGAR- Heavy snowfall in Srinagar has forced I-League to postpone Real Kashmir FC’s home game against Aizawl FC on Monday.
Overnight snowfall had left Srinagar’s Synthetic Turf TRC covered in a white blanket, with officials deeming postponement of the match as the only viable option.
“Due to heavy snowfall in Srinagar, Match #85 of the Hero I-League 2022-23 between Real Kashmir FC and Aizawl FC, scheduled to take place on February 1, 2023 at the TRC Stadium has been postponed. The fresh date of the match will be announced later,” the I-League said in a statement.
The match against Aizawl would have been the Snow Leopards’ first home game in 2023. The team last played at the Synthetic Turf on December 12, in a 1-0 loss against RoundGlass Punjab. Real Kashmir has since endured a run of winless away form, playing seven matches, losing four and drawing three.
Real Kashmir’s next scheduled match in on February 8 against Sudeva Delhi FC at Synthetic Turf TRC. It remains to be seen whether the Srinagar side’s match against Aizawl will be held sometime in the coming week or not.
