Ganderbal– The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested a revenue official for demanding and accepting a bribe from a man in this Central Kashmir district.
Tariq Ahmad Shah, posted as Patwari Halqa, Hathbura, Ganderbal was caught red-handed by the sleuths of ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs 50000 from the complainant at ‘main town here, reports said. The bribe amount was recovered from the revenue official in presence of the independent witnesses.
The accused Patwari was arrested on the spot.
Meanwhile, ACB in this regard has registered a formal case vide FIR number 01/2023 under section 7 of the Prevention of corruption act, 1988.( as amended in 2018).
