SRINAGAR- Real Kashmir FC is all set to face defending champions Gokulam Kerala FC in I-League 2022-23 at the EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode, Kerala today, Friday, January 20.
Both teams are on same number of points (18) after 11 matches, with Real Kashmir leading in goals scored (11). The match is slated for kick off at 4:30 pm.
Real Kashmir have been held to two draws against Aizawl and Sudeva Delhi since the start of 2023. Gokulam Kerala, on the other hand, won 1-0 against Churchill Brothers FC and lost 1-2 to TRAU FC in their previous match.
Snow Leopards’ head coach Mehrajuddin Wadoo is aware of the fixture’s importance in helping the Srinagar-based side stay in the Top 5 positions of the I-League table and wants his team to win the game against Gokulam.
“If you see the table, there is not much difference between the teams. To stay among the top 4-5 teams, it is imperative that we win tomorrow,” he told I-League.
However, Real Kashmir’s recent dip in form is a cause for concern and Wadoo is hoping for a turnaround in the match against the Kerala outfit.
“Our form has really gone down. Injuries and suspensions have played their part in that, but I do not want to give any excuses. I am particularly not happy with the draws in the last two games. Tomorrow is the day where we should start the turnaround,” Wadoo added.
