SRINAGAR- The Jammu & Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) on Thursday said that the Chairman of its Election Commission, Wasim Aslam, held important meetings with All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Kalyan Chaubey and General Secretary Shaji Prabhakaran at AIFF House in New Delhi.
Chairman Aslam met AIFF President on January 18 to discuss various issues regarding the state of football in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The meeting had the goal of discussing the process of elections and ways to further promote and develop the sport of football in J&K,” a JKFA statement about the meet with AIFF President said.
“During the meeting, both parties discussed various topics such as the Elections, increasing youth participation, developing grassroots programs and introducing girls football development programs,” the statement added.
On January 19, Chairman Aslam met AIFF General Secretary alongside Sajid Yousuf Dar (International Coach), Amardeep Singh (Ex International Player), Arun Pal Singh Jasrotia (Coach) and Aasif Dalal.
“The AIFF Secretary General expressed his support for the proposals and assured that the AIFF will work closely with the JKFA to ensure the success of these initiatives. He also praised the JKFA for their efforts in promoting and developing football in the region and said that the AIFF is committed to supporting the growth of football in Jammu and Kashmir,” the FA wrote in its statement.
“The JKFA and AIFF also discussed the possibility of organizing more youth and senior football tournaments and coach education programs in the region in future, which will provide more opportunities for local players and officials to showcase their talent and gain exposure,” it added.
