Srinagar- Election Commission of India has invited all political parties across the country to participate in a meeting in New Delhi.
Quoting an official, Srinagar based news agency KDC reported that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has invited all major political parties in India including JK PDP and JKNC to participate in a meeting at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 16 January.
He said “The Election Commission of India (ECI) has developed a prototype to enable remote voting for migrant workers and students and called an all-party meeting on January 16 to demonstrate the technology designed to address low voter turnout and to seek feedback.”
The purpose is demonstration of EVMs & VVPATs being organised in New Delhi by ECI, he added.
NC’s Shami Oberoi To Attend ECI Meet On Jan 16
National Conference (NC) has chosen party’s Treasurer Shami Oberoi to attend the meeting called by Election Commission of India (ECI) on January 16 at in Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders have said that decision in this regard will be taken tomorrow.
The ECI has invited all the political parties across the country to participate in a meeting on January 16.
The meeting has been called to discuss improvisation in voter participation of domesticmigrants using remote voting.
The meeting will start at 11:00 AM.
Talking to a local news agency KNO, National Conference (NC) spokesman, Imran Nabi Dar, said that the party has chosen its Treasurer Shami Oberoi to attend the meeting on January 16.
However, PDP leaders when contacted said that the decision in this regard has not been taken yet. They said that decision will be taken tomorrow.
