Srinagar- A person was apprehended by police for carrying over fifty-seven lac cash concealed in a geyser in Handwara area in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police official said that one person named Syed Irfan Abdullah, son of Mohd Abdullah, resident of Laribal, Handwara was apprehended carrying cash concealed in a geyser, during a naka checking at Braripora Handwara.
The recovered cash, the officials said, was counted in presence of the Magistrate, and the total amount came in tune of rupees 57,43,800.
Police have taken the cognizance of the incident and an FIR number 6/2023 registered under relevant sections for further investigations.
