SRINAGAR- J&K senior men’s cricket team reached 176/6 in 44 overs on Wednesday as bad weather allowed only 11 overs of play at the end of Day 2.
J&K built on their overnight score of 146/6 after 33 overs on Day 1, when bad weather halted play.
For J&K, wicketkeeper Fazil Rashid 46 (70) and pacer Aquib Nabi 16 (61) were on the crease at stumps. The duo added 30 runs on Day 2, while building an overnight partnership of 50 runs. Aquib came on to bat when the team was crumbling at 126/6 and, along with Fazil, ensured the team didn’t lose any more wickets.
Earlier on Day 1, quick fire innings by Vivrant Sharma 41 (45) and Abdul Samad 46 (29) saved J&K from a humiliating batting display.
