Srinagar- The J&K Lake Conservation & Management Authority (LCMA) on Saturday convened the 126th meeting of the Building Permission Authority (BPA) under the chairmanship of Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Vice Chairman, LCMA at Miskeen Bagh Office Complex, Srinagar.
The agenda for the meeting presented by the member secretary was discussed threadbare and 39 cases were decided by the BPA on merits.
Among others, Chief Town Planner of Kashmir, Joint Commissioner (P) SMC, Secretary J&K LCMA, Executive Engineer Electric Inspection Division, Enforcement Officer J&K LCMA, representatives of Executive Engineer UEED Division 1st, and PHE, representatives of Collector J&K LCMA, Tehsildar Khanyar and Tehsildar Nazool attended the meeting.
In the meanwhile, the Vice Chairman Dr J&K LCMA who is also the Chairman of BOCA has requested the people residing in the local jurisdiction of LCMA to apply for proper building permission through its BPA and obtain building permission before starting any sort of construction. Action against illegal constructions shall be taken as per the law.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Wing of LCMA today undertook a demolition drive in the areas of Baghwanpora Lal Bazar, Friends Colony Shalimar and Botanical Garden.
During the drive, two Single storeys, two Compound Wallings and one Wooden Shed was demolished/ removed. Moreover, illegally dumped earth filling in the area of the Botanical Garden was also removed on the spot. Further legal action against the violators was also initiated.
The Police Station Lal Bazar and Police Contingent from PCR were accompanying the Special Demolition drive.
