Jammu- Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Army’s 16 Corps on Tuesday called on Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and apprised him of the emerging security scenario.
The GOC 16 Corps called on the LG at the Raj Bhavan, here Tuesday, an official spokesperson said.
Appreciating the role of the Army in safeguarding the nation, the LG, he said, stressed on alertness and maximum synergy between the security agencies for ensuring a safe and secure environment in Jammu Kashmir.
Earlier, the spokesperson said, former Deputy Chief Ministers Dr Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta, met the LG and discussed with him several matters of public importance.
He said Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Rajinder Sharma also called on the LG and apprised him on the functioning of the Corporation.
“He was also informed about the recent resolutions passed by the corporation to improve its functioning among other matters,” the spokesperson added.
