SRINAGAR- Two students of the Grand Warriors Academy Srinagar, Imdad Ali and Shahid Hilal, have been selected by the Pencak Silat Association of J&K to compete at the upcoming nationals. The Pencak Silat Association of J&K held selection trials for the Sub Junior and Pre-Teen (Boys & Girls) players on December 31 at the Indoor Sports Complex, Polo View.
Imdad will compete in the Junior Pencak Silat Championship, set to take place from January 13 to 16, 2023, at Nanded, Maharashtra, and will see the participation of 30 Indian states.
Shahid has been selected to compete in the 6th Pencak Silat Federation Cup 2022, after winning the bronze medal for J&K in the 10th Senior National Championship, which was held in October at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Stadium in Srinagar. The 6th edition of Pencak Silat – Federation Cup 2022, will be held at Goa from 19-21 January 2023.
The academy’s coach, Adil Hussain Khan, stated that the academy is making progress every day and the results are outstanding.
