Jammu- The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Crime Branch on Tuesday produced charge-sheet against a man in connection with the sensational murder of former DGP Prison H K Lohia here in this winter capital in October this year.
The charge-sheet was produced against Yassir Ahmed of Halla Dandrath Ramban in connection with a case FIR No. 345/2022 registered at the Police station Domana on October 3, this year, a police spokesperson said.
Nine days after the murder, he said, the investigation of the case was transferred to the Crime Branch by Police Headquarters and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted by Crime Headquarters, J&K for further investigation of the case.
“During investigation, all cogent evidence(s) (Oral, Documentary, Circumstantial, Expert & Technical) were collected by the SIT. Besides, Narco Analysis test of accused was also conducted at DFSL Gandhi Nagar Gujarat,” the spokesperson said.
On the basis of evidence, he said, offences u/s 302, 201 IPC 4/25 Arms Act stand established against the accused Yassir Ahmed who has committed murder of the then DGP Prisons.
“The charge sheet stands thus produced in the Court of Law for judicial determination,” the spokesperson added.
