Srinagar- Two labourers died while cleaning an unattended well in Lasjan area of Srinagar outskirts on Tuesday.
A medico at SMHS hospital said that two workers who were brought to the hospital in unconscious state died in the hospital, reported news agency KNT.
Sources said that two labourers were found unconscious while cleaning an unused well in the Lasjan area. They were shifted to SMHS Hospital where they were declared dead.
They identified the victims as 45 years old Zakir Ahmed of Poonch and 38-years old Talib Ahmed, a resident of Gool Gulabgarh.
The presence of Carbon dioxide at the bottom of the unused well is prima facie attributed to the cause of death.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law.
