SRINAGAR- Former IAS officer, Qazi Mohammad Amin passed away at his Peer Bagh residence on Saturday. He was 97.
Qazi Mohammad Amin has served as the Home Secretary and Finance Secretary of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State. Briefly, he also held the chairmanship of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank.
Not keeping well for some time, he was restricted to his home.
His Nimaaz-e-Jinaazah, the congressional funeral prayers will be offered at 6:30 pm on December 24, 2022 (Saturday) at Umer Abad, Sector 2, Peer Bagh.
Qazi family has said that congregational Fateha for the departed will be held at the family’s ancestral graveyard in Malkhah (opposite Zaroo Gun Factory) on December 27, Tuesday at 11 am. However, there will not be any “gathering of men at the residence after the congregational prayers”.
Qazi is survived by his son, businessman Qazi Yehya, four daughters, and many grand children. He was the grandfather of journalist Qazi Zaid.
