Two accused arrested, locals appreciate Budgam Police
Budgam– Budgam Police had solved a theft case wherein a JCB machine was used to loot some three shops in Chadoora town some days back. Police have arrested two accused people who had committed the offence. In addition to it, stolen items were also recovered along with the JCB machine.
On December 18th Police Station Chadoora received an information that three shops belonging to Showkat Ahmed Sonu son of Ghulam Nabi Sonu resident of Chanapora Srinagar, Mohammad Shoeb Chinga son of Ali Mohammad Chinga resident of Natipora Srinagar and Muzamil Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar resident of Rangar Chadoora had been looted during the intervening night near R&B office Chadoora. The burglars had broken the shutters using a JCB machine and several mobile phones were stolen along with electric items and other accessories.
Chadoora Police in this connection registered an FIR Number 203/2022 under relevant section of law and investigation was taken up accordingly. During the course of investigation, police team of Police Station Chadoora put strenuous efforts and working on some leads, two suspects were brought for questioning from Herpora Shopian. During questioning the suspects admitted their involvement in the burglary.
The accused were arrested and upon their disclosure, stolen items which included three Mobile Phones, three Redmi Power Banks, three smart watches 03, one Realmi MP3, one torch was recovered. In addition to it the JCB Machine was also recovered from the arrested persons, which had also been looted from a local resident. The arrested persons have been identified as Mehraj Ahmad Sheikh son of Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh and Ikhlas Bhat son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat both residents of Dashnoo, Heerpora district Shopain.
Meanwhile, during the rigorous questioning, it surfaced that the JCB machine used for commission of crime belonged to one Basharat Ahmed Yatoo son of Haji Noor Mohammad Yatoo resident of Chadoora which was stolen by accused persons during intervening nights of 17 and 18 December 2022. During further investigation it surfaced that one of the accused namely Ikhkas Bhat was working as helper with the owner of the JCB machine and he had hidden a spare key of the JCB Machine and used the same to make the machine operational during the dead of night on 17-18 December and then the machine damaged the nearby shops to loot them. Meanwhile local residents of Chadoora have appreciated the police action. “We appreciate the action of the police team under the supervision of SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem and SHO Chadoora Mehboob Banday ” said Dr Raja Muzaffar social activist.
