SRINAGAR- Jammu & Kashmir men’s cricket team was completely outclassed by Gujarat in their Ranji Trophy match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After scoring just 135 runs in the first innings, the J&K side was bundled out for 183 on Thursday, leaving Gujarat with 11 runs to win the match in three days. Gujarat’s Siddharth Desai, who took 6 wickets in the first innings, helped himself to another 8 in the second to decimate J&K’s hopes of a comeback. Henan Nazir 43 (91) and Vivrant Sharma 41 (50) were the top scorers for J&K.
Gujarat, who scored 307 in the first innings, reached the 11-run target in 2.5 overs, losing 1 wicket in the process.
This is J&K’s second consecutive loss in the Ranji Trophy. They will next face Vidarbha on December 27.
