SRINAGAR- Jammu & Kashmir senior cricket team was bowled out for 135 on Wednesday in the Ranji Trophy match against Gujarat.
Gujarat had made 307 on Day 1 of the test, and on Day 2 wrapped up J&K’s first innings in 43.5 overs. Wicketkeeper Fazil Rashid played an excellent knock of 51* (84) to rescue J&K from a more embarrassing situation. Left arm spinner Siddharth Desai took 6 wickets to give Gujarat the upper hand.
After Gujarat enforced the follow on, J&K ended the day on 83/3. Desai again proved to be the chief wrecker and took all three wickets. Henan Nazir 33* (84) and captain Shubham Pundir 1* (24) were on the crease at the end of Day 2.
Jammu & Kashmir still trail by 63 runs.
Earlier, Abid Mushtaq took 4 wickets to help restrict Gujarat to 307. Aquib Nabi and Sahil Lotra took 2 wickets each. Fresh from his recent international experience, Umran Malik took 1wicket. For Gujarat, Saurav Chauhan top scored with 73 (100).
