Sopore- A Class 10th student, who had gone missing from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) was traced and re-united with the family, officials said here on Saturday.
An official said that Masroor Abbas Mir of Bohripora area of Sopore, who had gone missing from AMU on December 08, was traced. “After necessary questioning, the missing boy was reunited with his family,” officials said.
Earlier on Saturday morning, family and relatives of Masroor staged a protest and sought the whereabouts of their missing kin.
“A high alert was issued by the police under the operation Khushi, it was reported that this boy has been found in his home district, in the investigation, the above boy was found to have left of his own free will,” tweeted Aligarh Police.
Meanwhile, confirming the development, family members said their son has reached home safely after three days. “We are thankful to the media, Police as well as the general public for helping us in tracing out our missing son,” said a family member.
Masroor was missing since December 8 when he had left his hostel for the school.
