RTIM, KWT delegation distributes ration, blankets among Fire Victims in Ledden
Budgam- Social activist and Chairman Jammu & Kashmir RTI Movement Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat has demanded that Govt must set up fire stations in remote areas of J&K as fire incidents were on rise in the last 1 year.
A delegation of RTI Movement and Kashmir Welfare Trust led by Dr Raja Muzaffar and Haji Farooq on Friday visted Ledden village in Charar Sharief in district Budgam to meet the victims of the fire incident which destroyed three houses on Thursday night.
Relief material especially ration and blankets were distributed among the victims. RTI Movement has appealed that financial assistance under PM Awas Yojna be given to the victims so that they make new houses.
Pertinently during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, a massive fire incident destroyed three houses in Ledden village belonging to Gulam Mohammad Khatana & Nazir Ahmad Khatana.
“The fire tender had to come from Chadoora which is 22 kms away from the village and roads are also not good. It took them more than 2 hours to reach the place and by that time all the three structures had been turned into ashes. We appeal Govt to set up fire stations in remote areas so that such incidents could be controlled” said Dr Raja Muzaffar.
