Srinagar- A class 10th student at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) from Sopore is missing since December 8 and his family has sought help of authorities to trace their son.
16-year-old Masroor Abbas Mir of Bohripora locality of Sopore left his hostel on the morning of December 8 for the school but did not reach there, family members said.
“We tried to seek his whereabouts from his colleagues and school authorities but nobody is aware where he is,” a family member said.
“Masroor had withdrawn cash of Rs 5000 from an ATM. His mail is logged in and from that his last location was traced from Aligrah”, a relative of Masroor said.
His family said that a missing report has been filed in the concerned police station.
They appealed people to contact on the numbers 8308876880 and 8491878812 if they have any information about their son.
Meanwhile, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti also tweeted, “Masroor Abbas Mir, a tenth grade student at the Aligarh Muslim University has been missing since yesterday morning. Please spread the word in helping his family trace his whereabouts.”. (KNO)
