SRINAGAR- District Srinagar Softball championship 2022-23 organized by District Srinagar Softball Association under My Youth My Pride of J&K Sports Council concluded on Friday at Gindun Sports Centre, Rajbagh.
Over 280 players from different registered clubs, academies and schools of District Srinagar participated in Sub-Junior (Boys & Girls), Junior (Boys & Girls) and Senior (Men & Women).
The two-day long championship started on 13th November was declared open by General Secretary of J&K Softball Association Waseem Raja Khan. During opening ceremony General Secretary of the Association assured participating players that every possible help will be provided to budding players of Jammu & Kashmir for taking this Olympic Sport of Softball to great height.
During concluding function on Friday, Hilal Ahmad, Deputy Manager Gindun Sports Centre of J&K Sports Council was chief guest on the valedictory ceremony while Feroz Ahmad Secretary Softball Association of Pulwama, Sameer Dar NIS Softball Coach, Tajinder Singh Former Athlete were guest of honours.
Oasis Educational Institute emerged Winner in Sub Junior, Junior Girls, Khan’ Softball Academy, Doon International School emerged winners in Sub Junior Boys & Junior Boys while Wais Softball Club took the title in Senior Men’s and Unique Sporting Softball took up trophy in Senior Women category.
District Srinagar Softball Association lauded the tremendous support by the Technical team who made this event grand success which consists Mohammad Furqan, Jahangir, Siraj Ud Din, Zubair Manzoor, Saqib Ahmad and other technical staff.
The Championship was conducted under the supervision of Umer Akbar Organising Secretary of the championship.
Later, the Chief Guest Hilal Ahmad distributed medals, trophies among the winner and runner-up and third place teams and encouraged them for further upgrading their sports skill in this potential game.
