SRINAGAR- In the ongoing 2nd Positive Kashmir Football Invitational Knockout Tournament 2022, one quarter final match was played at Synthetic Turf TRC on Monday.
In the match, Downtown Heroes FC took on ARCO FC. In a closely contested match up, both teams were looking to attack and book their place in semi finals of the competition. However, the first half between the two teams ended 0-0.
The Heroes came out strongly in the second half and managed to take the lead early on. The team from Downtown, Srinagar then doubled their lead to put ARCO out of contention. ARCO tried to reduce the deficit and managed to pull one goal back. However, the team failed to capitalise on their chances and equalise the score. Hence, the Heroes won the match 2-1.
With this win, Downtown Heroes FC booked its place in the competition’s semi finals. Nabeel of the Heroes was declared as man of the match for his outstanding performance on the field.
Two quarter final matches are scheduled to take place today, Tuesday. In the first match, Syed Taj-ud-Din FC will face Ali Jana FC at 2 pm, while in the second game, Maharaja FC will play FC One at 5 pm. J&K Bank has already booked its place in the semis.
The tournament is being organised by Positive Kashmir NGO in collaboration with JKSC.
