Srinagar- The death of Maulana Muhammad Abbas Ansari is being widely condoled with people from all walks of life making a beeline to late leaders residence in downtown Srinagar. They include politicians, members of civil society groups, educational institutions and religious bodies.
National Conference President and Member Parliament Dr. Farooq Abdullah visited Khankah-e-Sokhta residence of late Moulvi Abbas and condoled his death.
Dr. Farooq said, “All his life, Moulvi sahib remained deeply engaged with the issues deeply rooted in religious and cultural pluralism of J&K. His great efforts to bridge the sectarian divisions will be remembered for all the times to come. I pay my tributes to him and pray to Almighty Allah and for peace to his departed soul in the highest realms of Jannat. My heart goes out to the bereaved family at this difficult time.”
National Conference leaders Aga Rohullah, Nasir Aslam Wani, Tanvir Sadiq and Aga Mehmood also visited the late leader’s residence.
Awami Action Committee organized a condolence meet to pay tributes to Moulvi Abbas Ansari.
Awami Action Committee (AAC) has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of a well-known religious scholar and founder of the Ittehadul Muslimeen Maulana Muhammad Abbas Ansari who passed away on Tuesday.
AAC organised a condolence meeting and paid glowing tribute to the senior religious leader Moulana Abbas Ansari for his invaluable religious, political and social services.
AAC has described Maulana Abbas Ansari as a far-sighted, intelligent and moderate leader.
All J&K Shia Association President, Molvi Imran Reza Ansari condoling the demise of Maulana Abbas said, “He was an all-encompassing Islamic scholar and an accomplished expert literary figure. He spent his life in the service of the high teachings of the Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS).
“I offer my profound condolences on the painful loss to the Ansari family of Nawakadal, especially his son Molvi Masroor Ansari, as well as to all the friends and admirers of the late scholar, and we ask mercy to Allah SWT for his forgiveness.” Ansari in a statement said.
Maulana Ghulam Rasool Hami, Apni Party leader Ghulam Hassan Mir, representatives of scores of Shrines and religious and social bodies were among those who visited the late leader’s residence on Wednesday.
Ayatollah Khamenei’s Office Sends Condolence
We are deeply saddened by the demise of a great religious scholar and multi dimensional personality of Kashmir Maulana Muhammad Abbas Ansari, a statement by Hujatul Islam Mahdi Mahdavipur, representative Ayatullah Syed Ali Khamenei in India said on Tuesday.
“Late leader has rendered unparalleled services to improve the lot of his people and brighten the future of thousands of youth by providing them with countless opportunities of learning and education”, he said adding “Night and day he stood by his nation in trial and tribulations”.
Agha Mahdavipur prayed for the departed soul and extended condolences to the people of Kashmir.
