Srinagar– A three-day capacity building workshop organised by National Centre of School Leadership (NCSL), a constituent of National Institute of Education Planning and Administration (NIEPA) in collaboration with School Leadership Academy (SLA) of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) concluded here on Thursday.
Prof. Charu Smitha Malik, an assistant professor with the NCSL, provided practical instruction to at least 50 participants from each of the valley’s ten districts, including principals of higher secondary schools, heads of district institutes of education and training, senior lecturers, headmasters, and head teachers.
SLA Coordinator Dr. Fayaz Ahmad read the concept note and need analysis before Mohammad Sharif Dehdar, Joint Director SCERT, Kashmir Division, officially started the workshop. Together with Masood Ali, Dr. Rabia Naseem, who is the divisional coordinator for SLA, moderated the program.
Six sessions on perspective on school leadership, improving oneself, changing the teaching and learning process, building and leading teams, and creating a school development plan were held over the course of three days. A variety of tasks and procedures were held on both an individual and group level including the one by Rehana Qussar, technology in-charge at SLA.
The NCSL is dedicated to helping schools across the country in striving to solve the leadership requirement and contextual school issues with the transformation of schools as the primary purpose.
