SRINAGAR- Jammu & Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) on Tuesday said that its Election Committee will hold elections in all of its District Football Associations (DFAs) and Zones “soon”. The decision was taken during the committee’s first meeting on Monday, 17th October 2022 at Srinagar which was chaired by its Chairman Wasim Aslam.
The meeting was attended by FA members from Kashmir while members from Jammu participated through video conferencing.
“The Chairman said in his opening speech that he is in constant touch with secretaries of Districts and is busy preparing completion of outline plan for conducting free and fair elections. The dates for holding Elections of each District, Zones of Kashmir province were finalized which will be issued shortly,” the FA said.
“A resolution was passed that if any individual Associated Member, Club creates hurdles in taking the election process to its logical end by exploiting the digital technology and running anti Association campaign and try to destabilize the Election, the Committee will take disciplinary action,” the FA added in its statement.
“JKFA has no agenda for or against anyone. We have been always neutral and have tried to streamline the J&K Football and take it to higher levels. The Unity of Football family needs to be kept intact, which is our paramount concern.”
“No one is authorized to defame any person or any Association Member/s through Social Media, Print Media & Electronic Media,” the FA said its statement.
