Srinagar– A Jaish Muhammad militant was killed while two civilians and a soldier were in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said Monday.
The encounter, according to a police spokesperson, started when a joint team of police and army laid a cordon around Batpora village following information about the presence of terrorists there.
In the initial exchange of gunfire, he said, two civilians and a civilian were injured. All of them were removed to the hospital for treatment.
“01 Army soldier & 02 civilians got injured in the ongoing #encounter. All the 03 injured shifted to hospital for treatment. #Operation going on. Further details shall follow,” Police posted on its official Twitter handle.
In another Tweet, the police spokesperson claimed to have killed an unknown terrorist in the ongoing gun-battle.
