Kishtwar– Asserting that Jammu and Kashmir’s progress is inherently linked to environmental resources, the Union Territory Lieutenant Governor; Manoj Sinha on Thursday called for preserving the traditional life-sustaining system and maintaining ecological integrity.
Sinha made these remarks during his second day of his visit to Kishtwar, during which he participated in a plantation programme organized by NHPC Dulhasti Power Project, an official spokesperson said.
“Our progress is inherently linked to environmental resources. We must preserve our traditional life-sustaining system and maintain ecological integrity. Protection, restoration and regeneration of natural resources are prerequisite for economic development,” the LG said.
Sinha was flanked by his Principal Secretary Nitishwar Kumar and Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta.
The LG, according to the spokesperson, planted Apple seedlings at Chenab Bhawan, NHPC Dulhasti Power Station.
